Summer Readers, join us for this guided nature walk at the Upper Manistee Headwaters Land Preserve with the Kalkaska Conservation District!
This property, owned and operated by the Boy Scouts for about 80 years before its acquisition by GTRLC, spans an impressive 1,288 acres and includes a wide variety of high-quality wildlife habitat. Of particular interest is the near complete lack of aquatic invasive species, making this property extremely valuable from a conservation standpoint.
We will be meeting at 12:30pm at the library. Transportation will be provided to and from the library to the Upper Manistee Headwaters Land Preserve.
This walk is open to children and families of all ages. The walk is about 1-1.5 miles long, and parent or guardian attendance is required.
Registration will open on June 21st. Advance registration is required, as space is limited. Please sign up in advance by contacting the library via phone at 231-258-9411 or by email at info@kalkaskalibrary.org
